The Crafting of Jay Weinberg's 2019 Slipknot Touring Kit

"My good friend and incredible artist Thomas Hooper has designed my new drum set for the upcoming Slipknot world tour. In conjunction with SJC Drums, Thomas has created an amazing piece, featuring his unmistakably unique, transformative, geometrically-intricate artwork.

Equipped with SJC’s painstaking details — oyster inlay bass drum hoops, T-style tension rods, vintage bass drum claws and spurs, vintage tom-tom internal muffling systems, distressed hardware, die-cast hoops, stained-black interiors, and custom wood badges — this kit has it ALL.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We’ve made some beautiful kits together in the past...but this one is 100% next level. It is an honor to play these drums, to have the support of my SJC family, and to have Thomas bring this vision to life with such clarity and execution.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thank you to Thomas Hooper and to the greatest drum company in the world, SJC Custom Drums. Gifted and inspiring people; all of whom I’m fortunate to call my friends. I can’t wait to play this kit every night. Come see these bad boys in action at upcoming Slipknot shows, as we tour in support of our new album, “We Are Not Your Kind.” - Jay Weinberg
